Liver Cake Recipe

To all those who know the extent of my cooking skills and are laughing their socks off about the idea of me having a recipe on my website, I have cooked this and the twentieth attempt was successful!! After breaking the blender, splattering the kitchen with raw liver and burning the cake I gave up. Luckily I have friends who are not so challenged in their cookery skills and kindly make it for me.

8oz/226g of liver

4ozs/113g of Self Raising Flour

2 Eggs

2 Cloves of Garlic

Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth, or if your dogs prefer a chunkier texture, blend for a little less time, this is just for personal preference.

Pour the mixture into a greased baking tin and put in the oven Gas Mark 4, Electric 180 °c/350 °f, for approximately 35-40 minutes. Leave it to cool then cut into small bite sized pieces. I put handful size quantities in small sandwich bags and freeze them, so they can be, defrosted when I need them for training purposes.

*Always be aware that too much liver or garlic is bad for your dog so don’t over feed it. Also as for any new food some dogs may not tolerate the ingredients listed here and any introduction of something new should be undertaken very slowly, and reactions monitored.
