When your iggy explores your garden, be sure to keep it away from any areas that have recently been treated with fertiliser, weed killer or slug pellets, it would be better not to use these at all in a garden that is used by an Italian Greyhound. Don’t forget Italian Greyhounds can often jump high fencing, or get onto high up surfaces that other dogs would have difficulty with.
A couple of mine can climb fences such as chain link as well. Italian Greyhounds are notoriously inquisitive and use their mouths, noses and paws to dig, rip and mouth objects to explore them so make sure that any gardening chemicals such as insecticides and fertilisers are well sealed and stored out of harms way. Ideally all chemicals should be kept under a lock and key. Apart from chemicals many common garden or house plants can be harmful to your Italian greyhound, the following is a list of some of them.
